Resource Support

At Hull Christian School, our mission statement is to educate covenant children in the light of God’s Word, preparing them for a life of Christian discipleship, responsible stewardship, and humble service in His Kingdom. HCS values all students as image bearers and recognizes that each child has unique God-given gifts and needs.

To help meet these unique needs, resource support is available. A student’s resource needs are determined by math and reading screening test results as well as parent and/or teacher referrals. Administration, teachers, and parents work in collaboration through a process of levels to determine classroom interventions and resource time. We also consult with All Belong and the Northwest AEA to meet the needs of our students throughout this process. When resource time is granted through our process, students meet individually or in small groups with a resource teacher to receive academic support in phonics, reading, writing, and math. Resource time allows students to learn in a supportive and responsive environment, where their needs and gifts are valued. Students also learn strategies to overcome academic challenges.

Sensory Opportunities

Hull Christian School has a sensory room and sensory hallway for students to use. We provide multiple sensory resources to proactively support students’ sensory needs and enable them to engage in learning. HCS also consults with All Belong and the Northwest AEA to best meet the sensory needs of our students.

Our sensory room has various social-emotional calming strategies, breathing techniques, and sensory tools ready for students to engage with. We also offer a variety of handheld fidgets and flexible seating options for students to use in their classrooms. A student can visit our sensory room as needed throughout the day with the permission and guidance of a teacher, school counselor, or paraprofessional.
