Our motto—Rooted in Christ—conveys how we see ourselves as educators in a Christian school. It is only because of the roots of Christ that we are able to guide students along the journey of their growth in faith and wisdom.

At Hull Christian School, our mission is to educate covenant children in the light of God’s Word, preparing them for a life of Christian discipleship, responsible stewardship, and humble service in His Kingdom. We strive to do this by planting our roots deep in biblical truths. Colossians 2:7 tells us to be rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as we were taught.

Have you seen the decorative wall display in our front hallway? A large, black, metal tree is the main feature of the installation, showing healthy growth coming from an abundant root supply. This represents a life fully rooted in Christ and capable of growth through Him.

There are three wooden arches along the wall to represent how a child would progress in their faith walk throughout their time at Hull Christian School (establishing, growing, and flourishing).

Establishing a Firm Foundation
Being rooted in Christ gives us a strong foundation from which to grow. Matthew 7 encourages us to build our lives upon the rock of our salvation so that when the rains come, our foundation holds fast. Our prayer is that our students claim this foundation for themselves and are able to live with the assurance that their hope comes from the Lord.

Growing in Knowledge
2 Peter 3:18 instructs us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. At Hull Christian School, we believe that the best way to do this is right alongside academic learning. Each subject that we teach shows the order and beauty of our world and helps us further explore who Jesus is.

Flourishing in God’s Kingdom
Our students will be given opportunities to learn who they are as part of God’s Kingdom, and our hope is that we will see this reflected in their character, how they interact with the world, and how they choose to serve one another. They will resemble a tree planted by the water, sending its roots deep, thriving, and bearing good fruit. (Jeremiah 17)
